Hello everyone, I started this message board and the facebook group as a way to network with local film makers and hopefully streamline a lot of the mess I see with trying to find gigs on craiglist and the like.

I have been an aspiring film maker since I started making short films with my friends back in 1999. I took drama, stagecraft, intro to video technology. I made at least a dozen short films and one semi feature length independent film. After high school I had some health issues which ironically translated into financial issues, hampering my progress, I directed a music video, a wedding film and two other independent shorts for contests. I also worked for public access as a camp instructor for teen film makers. I have also kept busy as a writer writing blurbs and reviews for websites. In the last two years I worked with a group producing a commercial for a firearms company. We also made a few short films for youtube. As of right now I'm working on scripts and updating my ancient equipment.

Good luck with this project.

I am fairly new to Boise from The Los Angeles area. I actually grew up and lived later in life in an area called Malibou Lake. Malibou Lake is regularly used in movie shoots, television shows and commercials when a lake was needed. The house I grew up in was used something like 16 times. the area has been used literally hundreds and hundreds of times.

I am a still photographer mostly, although I have shot a number of short films and I am currently working on my editing skills.

Being new to the Boise area, I have no contacts what so ever. So I hope this venture of yours takes off and becomes a place to meet and work with different people from the area.
